We met in 2007 whilst working on “Live Earth” a 24 hour worldwide concert organised by Al Gore to raise awareness of climate change.
10 years ago, Rich decided to take an Open University degree in Environmental Management and Technology and so a plan to escape to the country started to form.
After working all over the world in TV Production, we finally moved here to Erwan Fawr in 2017, to put into practice what we'd learned (and to learn a lot more in the process). We're still adapting to our new life, but wouldn't swap it!
When it comes to camping, we’ve been on many trips and hope to bring some of our best experiences to the site.
Our long term plan for Erwan Fawr, is to take us fully off grid and live a sustainable life as possible.
ENERGY: Since moving here, we've installed a Ground Source Heat Pump for the main house, and Solar PV, any mains electrical supply is from a renewable energy firm. There are plenty of springs in the fields, which we hope we can harness for water in the future.
THE LAND: Our first few years here have been spent renovating the house and outbuildings, and we are now turning our attention to the land. There is some work to be done! So far, we've planted a small orchard, which looks like we'll get our first crop of fruit from this year. But we aim to plant many more trees (not just fruit) and continue wild-flowering as many areas as possible.
